Julie Jean Beynon, Snyder, Burns, Longtin, 79

Julie Jean Beynon, Snyder, Burns, Longtin was born in the Stubenville, Ohio Hospital on a snowy, November 2nd day in 1944, and she breathed out her Spirit late on July 2, 2024, at the Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.

She was beautiful from the start and was always a loving, good-natured child who grew up in Amsterdam, OH and subsequently Akron, OH with her sisters, ShariLee, Debb and their “brother-cousin, Jack Carnes.

Her early years in Amsterdam reflected who she would become as her peers loved and sought her out, and adults frequently complemented our Mother on what a beautiful and perfect child she was.

Once, when 4 year-old-Julie and our mother were visiting neighbors, Scotty and Lilian Wilson, Julie was quietly sitting there as the adults talked, and then, out of nowhere, she spoke up to say, “That’s a very nice SHET you have on Mr. Scotty.”

That one immediately went all over our small town of 900 or so people!

Her sense of humor recently hit me, when she sent me a thank-you card for something I had done for her.

She knew that I collect coins, so inside the card, she thanked me, and she ALSO TAPED two nickels, the amount, as children, we received as an allowance each week.  I laughed and told her they had to be Buffalo Nickels in order to count.

Julie grew up to become a wife and mother in every sense of the word. She deeply loved and treasured her husband and two boys, Scott William Snyder and David John (DJ) Snyder.

Her boys were her whole life–and they became more and more her joy as time went on. Then, one day she lost one of them, David, in an automobile accident at 19 years of age.

After that, life became very hard for Julie, and she struggled for many years to get some meaning to her life back in place.

She focused on her beloved son, Scott, and during that time, she met the Lord Jesus Christ, accepting Him as the Lord and Savior of her life.

That decision subsequently led to our Mother, Sylvia Jeanne Mallernee, Beynon, Kruger, Scheu to also become a Christian—and it didn’t stop there…

Julie was always an outgoing person, sought-after by many people, both in her personal and business life.  In addition, she loved to volunteer in her church and other places–such as the humane society of Vero Beach, FL.

She was always also “mom” to her two little dogs. I, the oldest of her two sisters (ShariLee Beynon of Ocala, FL and Debb Beynon Robinson of Vero Beach, FL), once wondered if she could even count her friends, and “how did she keep track of everyone?”

Julie was a gifted artist from early childhood, and she produced exquisitely unique paintings—some to hang on her own walls, and special ones for her precious granddaughter, Kaleigh Jill Snyder Bowen & her husband, Thomas Bowen, of Savannah, GA and also some for her wonderful grandson, David Jerome (DJ) Snyder of Charlotte, NC.

In addition, she worked in a variety of mediums–from stained glass to acrylics, with various other modes of expression in between.

It goes without saying that Julie Jean Beynon, Snyder, Burns, Longtin loved the arts and thrived most when she was able to create beautiful things for others to enjoy.

As a result, she often gave them as gifts to friends as well as family members, and she was asked to hang them up in places all over Melbourne Beach and Vero Beach, Florida.

Most recently, her paintings could be found hanging for sale in various Melbourne and Vero Beach galleries–and her last sale hit four figures!  True to form, her art supplies et al. have been donated to the Vero Beach Art Club.

As a business woman ahead of her time, Julie was incredibly talented in interior design and worked with both individual and builder clients. She would personally help her clients to create their perfect dream homes.

Her sensitivity and ability to read the character of others, made her the sought after person to consult when they wanted their homes to reflect themselves and their lifestyles. There were times when she could even be found designing and making a piece of furniture, unique to a client’s needs for a special spot in their new home.

Julie loved sports and was an active sports-woman, excelling at both golf, tennis, and bowling—where she won several awards. She also loved boating.

From early childhood the family enjoyed boating on Portage Lakes, outside of Akron, Ohio and also on Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio, and then later–up and down the rivers and coastal waters of North to South Florida.

Julie’s son, Scott, and his family have followed in her footsteps in so many of her strong suits. Whether it was her work ethic, her business sense, sports, her generous nature and love for others, or their own, personal love for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ —their mom was their model.

Julie leaves behind her beloved Husband, Robert Longtin of Melbourne Beach, and (Her immediate family) Son, Scott W. Snyder; Granddaughter, Kaleigh Jill Snyder Bowen (Thomas); and her Grandson, David Jerome Snyder. (Her family of origin) Sister, ShariLee Beynon;  Niece, Gretchen M. McMinn (J. Michael McMinn); Niece, Kristen J. McMinn (Ronald I. Cole);  Niece, Heidi L. Wilson (Doug Wilson); Sister, Debb Robinson (Peter G. Robinson); Nephew, Peter Robinson (Tracey Robinson); Nephew, Joseph Robinson (Mandy Robinson); Great Nieces & Nephews: GNeice, Brittany McMinn; GNiece, Lindsey Parks (Christopher Parks); GNephew, Evan McMinn; GNephew, Zachary Heidenescher (Delaney Heidenescher); GNiece, Johanna Olmstead (Nathan Olmstead); GNiece, Makyla McMinn, (Drake Bulin); GNiece, Mackenzie McMinn; GGreatNieces & Nephews: GGNiece, Alavee Buckner; GGNephew, Brax  Glassman; GGNiece; Sutton   Parks; GGNephew, Lincoln Parks; GGNephew, Landon Burch; GGNiece, Sarah Burch; GGNephew, Jack Robinson; GGNiece, Katie Robinson; and GGNeice, Sava Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, Friends are encouraged to make donations to the Humane Society of Vero Beach, Florida in Julie’s name, or give to your favorite charity. If you would like to view Julie’s work, her website is https://www.juliebeachside.com/gallery

Arrangements are entrusted to Strunk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958.
