The Space Coast Symphony will have its 15th Anniversary Celebration this Sunday. The big event includes 130 musicians on stage performing Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. Also on the program are: Christopher Marshall’s “Aue!” which was commissioned for the orchestra’s 10th anniversary; Marquez’s “Conga del Fuego,” which is described as a colorful, fiery musical composition; and the world premiere of “Imagined Adventures: March at the West River” by Kevin Wilt. A composer of both film and orchestral music, Wilt is the composer-in-residence and chair of the Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Music. The 130-piece orchestra will comprise youth musicians performing side by side with the professional musicians. “130 musicians playing Tchaikovsky might just raise the roof,” says conductor Aaron T. Collins. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the Vero Beach Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th St. Tickets are $35 at the door. Concertgoers 18 years and younger, or those with a college ID, are admitted free. For more information, call 855-252-7276 or visit SpaceCoastSymphony.org.
