VERO BEACH, FL—The galleries, grounds, and especially the art studios at the Vero Beach Museum of Art were filled with artists of all ages on Saturday, April 27, during the Children’s Art Festival. The free, annual celebration of the arts and art-making attracted more than 2,500 attendees whose creative endeavors included studio instruction, music and dance performances, food trucks, art hunts, and docent-led tours of the galleries.
VBMA instructors and local art teachers led aspiring artists in special opportunities such as the Symmetrical Scarab Studio, Pyramid Palooza, Golden Glyphs: Hieroglyph Hangups, and Sands of Creativity—all inspired by the Ancient Egypt & the Napoleonic Era exhibition.
Additionally, multiple student art exhibitions were on view. An Artistic Discovery: The 2024 Congressional Art Show Exhibition presented by U.S. Congressman Bill Posey was on view in Holmes Great Hall, the School District of Indian River County Student Art Exhibit was displayed in the Atrium, and the Indian River County Secondary Student Exhibition was presented in the Patten Community Gallery.
