An Expanded & Explosive July 4th Celebration Coming Soon When “Dog Days of Summer” is Introduced as a New Feature of the Vero Beach Event!

It’s not too early to pull out your calendars and look forward to this year’s expanded and explosive July 4th event, The City of Vero Beach’s “Independence Day On The Indian River” at Riverside Park.

The 4th of July has become a widely loved holiday among Americans. Some of these Independence Day food traditions seem so quintessentially American, and this year they will be showcased for all attendees to enjoy at the holiday event!

Did you know The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council have declared the month of July as “National Hot Dog Month?” In fact, it is estimated that 150 million hot dogs will be eaten on July 4th! In Vero Beach…we expect to add to that number!

Thanks to The Source, in combination with the City event, there will be two exciting Hot Dog Competitions when the all new “Dog Days of Summer” unfolds from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.! Plan to come early and enjoy eating, watching and competing everything hot dogs!

Top Dog Competition-2:00-3:00 p.m.-Local businesses and organizations are invited to compete by creating an innovative hot dog by using any combo of ingredients to make the hot dogs different!

Hot Dog Eating Contest –3:00-4:00 p.m.- Ages 18 plus will have a limit of 5 minutes to consume as many hot dogs as possible, including the buns!

Prizes will be awarded for both competitions…at the City of Vero Beach’s “Independence Day on The Indian River” where more fun will continue from 5 p.m. right through the start of the 9 p.m. Fireworks display! Come early….stay late while Independence Day is celebrated
