Richard J. Stubbe, 95, Sebastian
September 7, 1928 – March 19, 2024
Richard J. Stubbe, 95 years old passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at Pelican Landing Assisted Living Facility. He was the widower of Barbara J. Stubbe, they were married in 1962 and shared 54 years of marriage together. They lived in Commack, New York, moved to Wading River, then retired and moved to the beautiful mountains of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Diedrich and Clara Stubbe. As a young teenager, Richard was involved as a “spotter” in the Civil Air Patrol searching for submarines off the Long Island sound during World War Two.
Richard served in the United States Air Force from 1948 through 1952 including 2 1/2 years of foreign service. He graduated from C.W. Post with a bachelors in engineering. He was employed at Grumman Aerospace in Calverton, New York for 35 years as an aeronautical engineer.
In his earlier years his hobbies included woodworking, gardening and creating beautiful stained glass pieces. In retirement he volunteered in the United States Forestry Service maintaining trails and bridges in Pisgah National Forest for 15 years. He was also a math tutor for young students for 22 years.
Richard had an adventurous and exciting life and a passion for traveling. In his later years his greatest happiness was to share his life stories with his grandchildren. He wrote emails to them about his life growing up and all of his experiences. Through Storyworth, two books were published. He was a gentle soul and was loved by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Holmes, husband Calvin Holmes, son Douglas Stubbe, wife Lynn Stubbe and 5 grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be later this year.

Evelyn Francis Tuttle Doney, 96, Gifford
May 11, 1927 – March 27, 2024
Evelyn Francis Tuttle Doney, 96 years old passed away on March 27, 2024 at Hidden Lakes Assisted Living Facility. Evelyn was born May 11, 1927, in Danville, Illinois to Fred and Nellie Tuttle. She graduated from Danville High School and attended Anderson College in Anderson Indiana. Evelyn was married to John R. Doney on September 22, 1946, and they had four children, Susan (Doney) Hickman, Bart J. Doney, Thomas Fred Doney, and Jeffrey John Doney.
She is predeceased by her husband Jack after 47 years of marriage, son Jeffrey Doney, grandson Brian Doney, and granddaughter, Traci (Hickman) Wilcox. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Richard) Hickman, sons Bart (Ranae Pettijohn) Doney and Thomas (Cynthia) Doney; daughter-in-law Sheila (Smith) Doney.
Evelyn lived a life full of passion and love for her family, God, and the outdoors. Her dedication to nurturing her garden, and spending time camping, boating, and shrimping with her husband exemplified her zest for life. Her love and passion was her involvement in the First Church of God in Danville IL. After retirement, Evelyn and Jack relocated to Florida and she transferred that love to Pathways Church in Vero Beach. She was very active in various ministries and cherished her church family. She treasured her several mission trips to Haiti where she taught girls how to sew and quilt.
Though she has passed away, her legacy lives on through her children, eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. We celebrate her life and the impact she made on those around her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 18, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Pathways Church of God located at 1105 58th Ave, Vero Beach, Florida 32966.

Robert S. Palmer Jr., 76, Roseland
September 19, 1947 – April 2, 2024
Robert S. Palmer Jr., 76, of Roseland, died Tuesday April 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born to Marie Murphy and Robert S. Palmer Sr. on September 19, 1947 in New Haven, Connecticut. Robert graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1965. He married the love of his life, Deborah, in 1976 and they lived together in Roseland.
Robert was a certified Electrician prior to becoming the owner/operator of The Money Tree Pawn Shop of Melbourne with his wife in 1982. They worked side by side for 39 years. Robert continued to be the “Pawn King” until his retirement in 2021. Once he retired, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends going on their boat and traveling.
Robert is survived by his wife, Deborah; mother, Marie Murphy; children, Edwin Fletcher, Melissa (Samuel) Butts, Katheryn (Gibby) Gibson, Jennifer Connell, and Majorie Craig; grandchildren, Amber (Thomas) Kohler, EJ (Mia) Fletcher, Christopher Connell, Travis Holmes, Veronica, Emma, Elizabeth Gibson, Haden, Jackson and Lily Butts, Charlie (Melanie) Lindsay III; His favorite brother-in-law, Mike (Gale) Edmonds; son-in-law, Charles (Andrea) Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Olivia, Jacob, Owen Kohler, Mina, and Gabriella Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was a kind and loving man with a tender heart and a great sense of humor. His generosity and love showed no boundaries, everyone was welcomed with open arms. He had his favorite “fishing trips” that he took with some of his favorite people. Robert will be dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Palmer Sr; father-in-law, Edwin Edmonds; mother-in-law, Joanne Edmonds; and brother, Mark Palmer.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will follow at 11:00 AM at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming St, Sebastian, FL, 32958. Suggested attire is “Casual Robert”, a black shirt and jeans.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be to the Melanoma Research Foundation in Robert’s name in hopes of one day finding a cure.

Logan R. Nolan, 85, Florida
July 21, 1938 – April 15, 2024
Logan R Nolan, SFC Retired, our Hero left us on April 15, 2024. Logan was born July 21, 1938 in Turners Station, Kentucky in the county of Henry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 65 years, Sarrah Catherine Nolan.
Logan is survived by his daughter, Sonja (Mitchell) Wall, two grandchildren, Jeremy Joe (Anna Brewer) Littrell and Jessica Kay Littrell (Thomas Dixon) and two great grandsons, Kristopher Toth and Logan Littrell.
Logan served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years and throughout his service he and his family lived in Korea, Germany, Iran, Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Tennessee and Kentucky.
He joined the Army in 1957, stationed in El Paso, Texas and retired in 1977 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He then moved to Clarksville, Tennessee and went to work at Fort Campbell as a mechanic under contract.
During his life Logan has visited all 50 states as well as Italy, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Austria, Holland, Beirut, Lebanon, Istanbul, Turkey and Morocco.
He became a snowbird in 1997 going to Florida for winter months and Clarksville for summer months. In 2011 He and Sarrah moved to Florida permanently.
Logan is a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 10210, Member of the American Legion Sebastian, and a member of the 101st Airbourne Division Retiree Organization.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida. A Celebration of Logan’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

Carolyn Ann Johnson 81, Sebastian
October 23, 1942 – May 2, 2024
Carolyn Ann Johnson 81, died suddenly on May 2, 2024 in Sebastian, Florida. She was the loving wife of Eugene (Gene) Johnson. They shared 61 wonderful years of marriage together. She was a resident of South County for 40 years before moving to Sebastian, Florida.
Born in Salisbury, Maryland. She was the daughter of Mary and Lawrence Rowe. She graduated from Goldey-Beacom Business College in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a loving wife and mother for many years. When her children were grown she worked as a realtor for 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, golfing with friends, and spending time with loved ones and friends at Galilee Beach Club. Most of all she enjoyed quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by husband Eugene Johnson, two daughters Laura Dority and Greta Brew, five grandchildren, Amanda Poppe and husband Evan Poppe, Adam Briggs and wife Jayme Briggs, Lacey Briggs, Laura Briggs, and Megan Dority, six great grandchildren, Caleb, Audrey, Asa, Alana, Samantha and Freya.
The celebration of life will be May 21, 2024 from 5-7 at Phil’s Main Street Grille in Wakefield Rhode Island.

John (Jack) Edward Kubsch, 86, Sebastian
December 17, 1937 – May 4, 2024
John (Jack) Edward Kubsch, 86 passed away peacefully surrounded by his partner, Rose Lang and his six children on Saturday May 4, 2024. Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was born to Matthew and Stella Kubsch in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1955. Jack had a fulfilling 50-year career in trucking management – moving around the Midwest throughout his career. Upon retiring, he spent 17 years in Sebastian, Florida, supported and loved by Rose Lang and surrounded by his community of friends. He was recognized for his commitment to community service, winning the Blue Heron award. He was a master of all things – from golfing, cooking on the grill, and making Bloody Marys.
Jack raised six wonderful children. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Kubsch, mother, Stella Kubsch, brothers, Fred, Dave, Allen, Mark. Jack is survived by Rose Lang, brother Jimmy (Betsie) Kubsch, children Steve (Julie) Kubsch, Jodi (Dave Eagan) Wiesen, Jeff (Sherry) Kubsch, Shari (John) Rice, Kristin (Tracie Noah) Kubsch and John Kubsch. Jack has 10 Grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place at the Park Place Community Center in Sebastian, Florida on Wednesday May 8, 2024. A private burial is scheduled June 21, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
