Vero Beach, FL – April 15, 2024 – Literacy Services of Indian River County (LSIRC) hosted its highly anticipated Love of Literacy Luncheon on March 15th at Bent Pine Golf Club, bringing together community leaders, supporters, and literacy enthusiasts to celebrate the power of reading and honor the achievements of LSIRC’s Students of the Year. This year’s event was made even more special with the presence of acclaimed author Will Schwalbe, whose inspiring words left a lasting impression on attendees.
The Love of Literacy Luncheon serves as a platform to recognize the remarkable progress made by adult learners enrolled in LSIRC’s literacy programs. Their stories of resilience and determination served as a source of inspiration for all in attendance.
The keynote address, delivered by New York Times bestselling author Will Schwalbe, was the highlight of the event. LSIRC’s Vice President, Lauren Michaels, interviewed the author. Schwalbe’s captivating storytelling and profound insights into the transformative power of books, moved the audience with tales of how literature has the ability to connect, heal, and inspire individuals from all walks of life. His inspiring message underscored the importance of literacy and the profound impact it can have on both individuals and communities.
“We are incredibly proud of our Students of the Year!
