Vero Beach Sock Drive Collects Over 15,000 Pairs to Warm Hearts and Soles

Vero Beach, FL – [April 4, 2024] – The Vero Beach Sock Drive has once again surpassed expectations, delivering a staggering 15,008 pairs of new socks, along with various other essential items, to ten charities across the Treasure Coast, three in Broward county, and two charities located in New York and New Jersey. This remarkable achievement underscores the community’s unwavering commitment to helping those in need and demonstrates the power of collective generosity.

“A pair of socks is an easy ask, and our community responded again this year with their amazing generosity,” says Barry Shapiro, Founder of the Vero Beach Sock Drive. In addition to new socks, the Drive also collected and distributed t-shirts, underwear, flip flops, slippers, gym bags, toiletries, and more, ensuring that individuals receive comprehensive support to meet their basic needs.

The success of the drive can be attributed to the forty-four participating local businesses listed below, which hosted donation boxes, helped us advertise and financially contributed to the Sock Drive. The Web Wise Guys, a local web design company managed the connection for hundreds of more donations via Amazon. Through these partnerships, individuals were able to contribute to the cause with ease, further amplifying the impact of the initiative.  White Glove Moving and Storage, ABC Printing, Pak Mail, Dale Sorensen Real Estate, and Alexander Insurance participation further ensured the success of the initiative.

Working together, the Vero Beach Sock Drive continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing hardship. “It takes a great team of volunteers to accomplish what we did, and I am indebted to all for their tremendous support and kindness,” adds Shapiro.
