THE LINKS, INCORPORATED, PROUDLY PRESENTS BLACK FAMILY WELLNESS EXPO

Join the Treasure Coast (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Linking Together Against Syndrome X and Black Family Wellness Expo, 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, 4875 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach.  Focusing on mental, physical, and financial health for every member of your family, some of the topics will include Health & Wellness Screenings, Financial Literacy, Cardiovascular and Joint Health.   

Guest speakers include, Dr. Leon Hendley, Cheryl Campbell from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Chauncelor Howell, Quinnesha “Nikki” Hawkins, and special guest, child actor Trenton Flowers, who appeared in new The Color Purple.

One of the focal points of the Event will be the Lifetime Achievement Award to the late Thomas A. Jackson, M.D., the first black cardiologist in Indian River County.  The award will be presented to Dr. Jackson’s wife, Dr. Elizabeth Jackson.

The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946.  It is comprised of more than 17,000 professional women of African descent and is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
