Chamber music will be heard this Sunday afternoon when the Con Brio Quartet performs a concert of Romantic Era works. The quartet members come from Russia, Uzbekistan, Mexico and Ukraine and are violinist Valentin Mansurov, cellist Aziz Sapaev, violist David Pedraza and violinist Marina Lenau. The program will include Ravel’s “String Quartet in F major” and Vierne’s “Piano Quartet in C minor” featuring the church music and arts director Jacob Craig. “Con Brio is by far the most repeatedly programmed group we have at First Pres, due to their fantastic musicianship and engaging personalities,” Craig says. The Community Church of Vero Beach is exhibiting “Violins and Hope: From the Holocaust to Symphony Hall.” The exhibition tells the inspiring story of “music, history and resilience” by showcasing instruments used by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust. These instruments were restored by Israeli violinmaker Amnon Weinstein and curated by Daniel Levin for the show. The exhibition is installed in the Narthex Gallery at the Community Church and is on view through April 1. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sundays. Waldo’s Secret Art Walk takes you into Waldo’s Secret Garden, the family homestead of Waldo Sexton.
