Youngsters were the stars at the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s annual Holidays at the Museum, with student performances and children’s activities taking place everywhere during the family-friendly, free day of culture.

Before they even entered the museum, attendees stopped to enjoy a new, high-flying acrobatics show from McCandless Family Holiday Cirque Adventure, whose gravity-defying acts took place near the outdoor portico.

Once inside, many made a beeline for the Education Wing and the Laura and Bill Buck Atrium, where volunteers assisted little ones to tap into their inner artistry with acrylic easel painting, making M.C. Escher-inspired 3D ornaments and gravity-defying rooms, and tackling printmaking to make holiday gift bags.

Others made their first stops in the galleries, where docents helped them discover clues to a Scavenger Art Hunt, inspired by the mesmerizing M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations exhibit.

Throughout the day, students took center stage with music and dance performances in the Holmes Great Hall and the Leonhardt Auditorium. Performances included children from Vero Classical Ballet, Fellsmere’s Musical Mustangs, Osceola Magnet Singers, Vero Beach Karate and the Glendale Elementary Choir.
