If you’re looking for a quiet spot on the ocean that’s move-in ready, 151 S. Camelia Court in Sea Forest Court is the “epitome of coastal luxury living,” according to ONE Sotheby’s International Realty broker associate Kristin Dobson.

“It’s ideally suited for someone just wanting to come down and not have to do anything – just move in and take advantage of it right away,” says Dobson.

The fully renovated oceanfront home was “taken down to the studs. The owner poured a lot of love, sweat and tears into it,” she continues.

Owner Liz Vaughan moved to Vero Beach 12 years ago to be closer to her mother. “I fell in love with Vero, so decided to stay and started my own family here five years ago,” she recalls.

When she discovered the Camelia Court house, she knew it was a project she had to undertake. “Sea Forest drew me in due to its tranquility and proximity to everything, especially the ocean and the Beach Market,” says Vaughan.

Dobson agrees, noting the proximity to shopping and dining locations. “It’s a great location,” she says, adding, “there aren’t a lot of homes in Sea Forest Court,” which contributes to an atmosphere of quiet beachside living.

“The renovation project was massive, transforming the entire home into our brand-new oceanfront dream,” says Vaughan, sharing that she removed walls to create an open kitchen, floated the sunken floor, custom-designed the windows and doors, increased ocean views, expanded bathrooms and added closets.

“There was no expense spared and nothing left untouched. It took just over a year to complete, and we are in love with the outcome,” she continues.

Brick pavers line the steps leading to the double mahogany and glass entry door, which opens into a two-story foyer with an open floorplan flowing through the house’s main living area.

The interior exudes both sophistication and relaxation. A clean palette with fine millwork, including crown molding, wainscoting; and additional touches like beamed and shiplap ceilings, along with varied ceiling heights, add style and diversity to each space. The hickory wood flooring complements the muted color scheme.

Staged by Hazel House, the décor is ideally suited for the casual elegance of beachside living. Dobson notes that the furnishings are available for purchase, making this potentially a total turnkey operation.

“It’s a great entertaining house,” says Dobson of the openness of the kitchen and the living area, which are enhanced by walls of large windows on three sides. “A lot of light comes in,” she notes.

To the left of the front entry, are the laundry closet, garage access and a gourmet kitchen equipped with Thermador appliances and a marble kitchen island, which serves as a prep area and casual dining space. The more formal dining area is convenient for entertaining as well as day-to-day living.

Stepping deeper into the home, the dining room and living room are at its core, with doors opening onto the oceanfront and wraparound patio. The communal living areas flow effortlessly into the natural world, transitioning to outdoor living.

A fireplace, set between two large windows in the living room, serves as the focal point, adding depth and dimension to the space that flows into the sunroom at the rear of the house.

The octagonally-shaped sunroom juts out from the house, creating a sense of sitting in a glass-enclosed gazebo surrounded on three sides by nature and filled with natural light.

Two guest bedrooms sharing a Jack and Jill bath are situated to give visitors a bit of seclusion in their own wing. The western-facing guest suite has a private courtyard for quiet contemplation, with the eastern-facing suite opening onto the rear patio and the ocean beyond.

Near the front entry, the powder room is accessible for guests beneath the lovely wooden staircase that leads to the primary suite on the upper level. The expensive, second-floor suite has plenty of room for an oceanside seating area, a walk-in closet and a luxuriously appointed bath with a soaking tub, water closet, shower and dual sinks.

A porthole window, herringbone tile and blonde cabinetry are lovely contrasts to the simple, clean lines throughout the house.

Spectacular views seen through every window and door. You can watch the sunrise over the ocean from bed through the large window or stroll onto the balcony overlooking the beach and sweeping sea views.

Outside, a wraparound patio is protected by a hedge of sea grapes and other native flora along 60 feet of ocean frontage. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, outdoor dining or a glass of wine as you hear crashing waves coming from just over the dune.

Sea Forest Court is an intimate, gated oceanfront community with just over 40 homes, deeded beach access and dune crossover. Located nearby, the Village Shops offer dining and shopping, and the subdivision is just a short drive away from the Ocean Drive shopping and dining district and cultural offerings at Riverside Theatre or the Vero Beach Museum of Art.
