A Vero Beach association of professional artists, collectors, and patrons will hold its second annual holiday exhibition at the Environmental Learning Center from January 5 to February 5, 2024. This show is sponsored by Friends of Contemporary Art, also known as FOCA, and will feature works by 32 prominent local painters and photographers. Visitors can meet the artists at an Opening Reception from 4:30 to 6:30 PM on Friday, January 5th.
“Because Vero Beach has such a lively art scene,” says FOCA President Sharon Theobald, “it has attracted more than its share of art talent and this show represents some of the very best of it.” Included will be works by: Maciek von Ato, Aric Attas, Rita Barone, Mary Garvey Beda, Lila Blakeslee, Ann Chwatsky, Hank Feeley, Ellen Fischer, Mary Gallatin, Elise Geary, Xaque Gruber, Susan Hale, Jill Kerwick, Barbara Krupp, Shotsi Cain Lajoie, Barbara Landry, Joanne Limoges, Lou Ann Lindsay, Madeline Long, Gustav Miller, Janvier Miller, George Pillorgé, Suzanne Roff, Barbara Rowles, Kate Russum, Timothy J. Sanchez, Dorothy Napp Schindel, Cree Scudder, Ann Starkey, Allan Teger, Emily Tremml, Janet Kipp Tribus and Stuart Carr Weismiller. The Environmental Learning Center is committed to displaying artwork from a wide diversity of artists and artwork mediums that align with the mission to educate, inspire, and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being. The annual season of shows offers a dynamic and exciting variety of art for visitors to enjoy. All of the artwork is for sale and the ELC benefits from a portion of the proceeds donated by each participating artist.
Artist Meet and Greet events are open to the public and feature music and refreshments.
The Environmental Learning Center is a 64-acre island nature park surrounded by the Indian River Lagoon in Vero Beach, Florida, and committed to sharing the importance of protecting and restoring our natural resources. The ELC is open seven days a week and located at the western foot of the Wabasso Bridge Indian River County at 255 Live Oak Drive. The nonprofit nature center is a destination for kayaking, walking trails, pontoon boat ec-tours, and wellness programs. Admission is $10 for Ages 12 and up and $5 for children 2-11 years old.
