United Way of Indian River County Announces Grant Opportunity for Financial Stability and Health Programs

United Way of Indian River County Invites Letters of Intent for Financial Stability and Health Grants

VERO BEACH, October 26, 2023 – United Way of Indian River County (UWIRC) is now accepting Letters of Intent for funding in the Financial Stability and Health Impact Areas through the Community Impact Fund. Established with the goal of supporting high-performing nonprofit organizations aligned with UWIRC’s strategic priorities of Education, Financial Stability, and Health, this grant opportunity seeks to enhance the well-being of our local community.

UWIRC operates on a two-year funding cycle and is currently accepting proposals from organizations serving Indian River County residents and can demonstrate measurable participant progress based on outcomes and indicators set forth by UWIRC in one of the following Financial Stability and/or Health Priority Areas:

Financial Stability

  • Basic Needs: Ensuring all individuals have access to an ample supply of nutritious food and safe, sustainable housing.
  • Stabilization/Manageable Expenses: Empowering individuals with the financial resources and assets necessary to avert financial crises.
  • Family Sustaining Employment & Workforce Skill Development: Equipping individuals with the skills and resources needed to seek, obtain, and retain employment. This includes assisting lower-income working families and individuals in achieving and maintaining life-sustaining employment.

Health

  • Improved Physical and Mental Health: Ensuring all individuals have access to services that enhance physical and mental well-being, encompassing healthy weight, physical, oral, and behavioral health, along with the ability to live independently.
  • Improved Quality of Life for Mothers, Infants, and Children: Providing families with resources and access to services related to children’s oral health, child abuse prevention, perinatal care, children’s behavioral health (including mental health and substance abuse symptoms) and addressing childhood obesity.

Interested organizations and programs are required to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by 4:00 PM on November 17, 2023, for consideration in the grant funding process. LOIs must be submitted electronically through United Way’s web-based grant platform, e-CImpact. Following the review of all submitted LOIs, agencies will be notified if they are approved to proceed to the application stage.
