Community-wide Event to Support Local Homeless Families This Week

WHAT: 31st Annual Soup Bowl Fundraiser featuring over a thousand locally crafted pottery bowls and soup all to benefit local homeless families

WHO:  Catholic Charities’ Samaritan Center, Indian River Clay, Heritage Center, Source’s Dignity Food Truck. Over 30 area businesses, places of worship, nonprofit organizations and schools will join the cause by serving soup and offering bowls for donations at their locations

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Heritage Center, 2140 14th Ave, Vero Beach, FL and locations throughout Indian River County

WHY: Indian River County continues to see more working families in crisis and facing homelessness.  The Soup Bowl fundraiser proceeds benefit the Samaritan Center which helps homeless families to embark on sustainable pathways to independent living. About Samaritan Center: Samaritan Center is a transitional residential facility for homeless families with dependent children in Indian River County. We help families develop skills needed for successful reintegration into mainstream society. Admission is open to families of all faiths.  Samaritan Center is a core program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach and a funded partner of the United Way and the Indian River County Children’s Service Advisory Council.  This event raises awareness and much needed funding for the homeless families served by Samaritan Center.
