From Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory

Beverly J. Seminara, 70, Sebastian

December 31, 1952 – September 22, 2023

Beverly J. Seminara passed away on Friday September 22, 2023. She was born on Dec 31,1952 to Dorothy (Morin) and Joseph Seminara. Growing up in the Hazardville part of Enfield, CT she attended St Adalberts and Enfield High Schools – graduating EHS in 1970. Beverly put herself through college at both Indiana University and Florida Atlantic University, graduating in 1979 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She has lived in Florida the majority of her adult life most recently in Sebastian, FL. She went on to hold a number of interesting jobs including working for the Enquirer tabloid paper in it’s heyday and as an administrator assistant on a tropical island at a military base (and that is all we can say about that) until she landed her role as the 2nd primary purchaser for Palm Beach Community College campuses purchasing everything from books to lab equipment.

Beverly was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s Encephalopathy H.E. There was little known about the disease when she was diagnosed so she researched the medical cases known and created the web site H.E.L.P.S. to help others with her research – she is still cited today through out the internet for her early research and understanding of the disease.

She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Barbara Gillespie all of Enfield, CT. She leaves her Fiancée of 18 years Richard (Rich) Gallagher of Sebastian, FL; niece Denise (Redin) Gagnon of Beverly, MA; nephew Charles (Chuck) Redin and wife Jessica of Flower Mound, TX and her great nieces and nephews Stephanie Gagnon; Joseph Gagnon; Alexa Redin and Casey Redin. She will be dearly missed by her best friend Lori and husband John Marchesino of Rome, NY.

Beverly will be buried in Enfield, CT with her parents and sister at Enfield Street Cemetery at a later date.
