ELC announces 2023-2024 Nature Inspired Art Series

The Environmental Learning Center is committed to displaying artwork from a wide diversity of artists and artwork mediums that align with the mission to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being. The 2023-2024 season of shows will offer a dynamic and exciting variety of art for visitors to enjoy.  All of the artwork is for sale and the ELC benefits from a portion of the proceeds donated by each participating artist. The Artist Meet and Greet events are open to the public and feature live music and refreshments. 

The Indian River Bird and Nature Art Show sponsored by Pelican Island Conservation Society opens October 2nd and is on exhibit until October 27th.  Applications for this show are available now and the deadline is September 22nd at 5:00 PM.   PICS will be hosting an Artist Meet and Greet on Saturday, October 7th, 5:30-7:30 PM and they will be honoring the show award winners.  After the social time, there will be a presentation on Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge. 

The Magic of Trees is scheduled from November 2nd to December 29th.   This is a group show with five artists; Judy Burgarella, Ella Chabot, Cynthia Colella, Scott Kelly, and Camy de Mario will be exhibiting tree-themed artwork.  The artists are hosting a Meet and Greet for the public on Friday, November 10th from 5:00-7:30 PM and a Closing Reception on December 29th from 5:00-7:30 PM. Bobby and Cory De Mario along with Drew Taylor will be entertaining with live music. 

VIVA FOCA! is the first show in 2024 and opens on January 4th.  The Friends of Contemporary Art Show will run through February 28th.  The public is invited to an Artist Meet and Greet on Friday, January 5th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.  

The Orchid Island Art Club Member Show finishes the season during March, April, and May.  An Artist Meet and Greet will be Wednesday, March 13th, 4:30-6:30 PM.     

The Environmental Learning Center is a 64-acre island nature park surrounded by the Indian River Lagoon in Vero Beach, Florida.    The ELC is open seven days a week and located at the western foot of the Wabasso Bridge Indian River County at 255 Live Oak Drive. The nonprofit nature center is a destination for kayaking, walking trails, and wellness programs.
