‘Pop’ culture! Book Center event bubbles over with giddiness

In what has become a rite of passage for the mostly Pre-K set, the Vero Beach Book Center started off the July Fourth holiday with its annual Bubble Wrap Explosion Party, a time-honored tradition that makes good use of the piles of bubble wrap saved up throughout the year.

Before they were able to make noise with abandon, the little ones were entertained by Story Hour with Miss Erin. Sitting at her feet in rapt attention – mostly – they listened to stories and interacted with the songs she sang. Then the air was peppered with the sounds of ‘fireworks’ as children jumped up and down, stomping on and popping the sheets of supplied bubble wrap. After all that exertion and excitement, everyone was treated to Kona Ice Cream.
