First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach spotlights music educators in free event
(VERO BEACH, FL) August 14, 2023 – As the kids head back to school, it’s their teachers’ time to shine! On Sunday, August 27, First Presbyterian Church will showcase the talents of nearly a dozen music educators during the Indian River Music Educators’ Recital, a free event at 520 Royal Palm Boulevard in Vero Beach. The 3:00 PM concert will include the collective talents of music teachers from public and private schools and studios, in solo performance and in ensembles. The second annual event will feature the music of strings, woodwind, percussion and brass instruments, along with voice performance. The teacher-performers at the Indian River Music Educators’ Recital will draw from diverse musical genres that include works by classical greats such as J.S. Bach and Johannes Brahms. Audience donations at the free event will be accepted with gratitude. For more information about the Indian River Music Educators’ Recital, visit www.FirstPresVero.org or call (772) 562-9088.
Jessica Russell of First Presbyterian is a long-time champion of music educators and the first to explain the importance of the annual free community event.
“This is Indian River County’s only recital that turns the spotlight exclusively on teachers,” said Ms. Russell. “These educators are highly trained musicians who work tirelessly with students during the school year to nurture young talent. This concert allows them to be appreciated as artists in their own right.”
The second annual Indian River Music Educators’ Recital is just one of many musical events sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach, known for its musical outreach to the Central Florida community.
