Everyone Needs ‘A Little Night Music‘
Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents Stephen Sondheim classic with professional cast
(VERO BEACH, FL) August 14, 2023 – Winning five Tony awards after its Broadway open in 1973, Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music has been called a gem in two acts. Fresh off performances in Orlando and complete with costuming and digital sets, A Little Night Music will be presented by the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, August 27 with a professional cast from Central Florida Vocal Arts. The audience can expect a rich musical experience and an expanded orchestra during the 3:00 PM show at Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street, 32960. Set in the enchanted birch groves of Sweden, the Sondheim classic sings and waltzes its way through the lives of mismatched couples who make some very surprising discoveries about their true desires. In an ever-thickening plot, the couples come together for “A Weekend in the Country,” where anything can happen to the very young, the very foolish and the very old. Sondheim’s witty masterpiece clocks in at two hours and 45 minutes and features the memorable, “Send in the Clowns.” A film version of Sondheim’s musical was released in 1977, starring Elizabeth Taylor. $30 tickets for A Little Night Music are available through the orchestra website www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or at Marine Bank & Trust, beachside and mainland branches. Tickets at the door are $35. Passes for the entire 2023-24 performing season are still available, as well as ticket “flex packs,” good for any five subscription concerts. Concertgoers aged 18 and under or with a college ID are admitted free to every SCSO concert.
