Birth of The Endless Summer (USA, South Africa, 87 mins.)

Birth of the Endless Summer reveals the hidden story behind filmmaker Bruce Brown’s The Endless Summer, an iconic film that captured the hearts and imaginations of surfers and non-surfers alike. The film launches in Vero Beach Friday, August 11th and runs through August 17th at the Majestic 11 CW Theaters, Vero Beach:  https://www.cwtheaters.com/movie/VeroBeach/BIRTH-OF-THE-ENDLESS-SUMMER

Birth of The Endless Summer is  “a beautiful film,” and a “must-watch documentary” said the Inertia while IndieFest Film Awards voted it a “Top 10 Film of the Year.” The award-winning doc feature captures the magic of adventure traveler and surf pioneer Dick Metz as he vagabonds the globe from 1958-1961. Metz’s journey would not only inspire Brown to create one of the most watched and beloved films of all time, but also set events in motion that would forever change surfing and pop culture. A companion book was released on 6/28/23 from SCRIBD, “Birth of the Endless Summer: A Surf Odyssey,” written by the only pro surfer to win a Fulbright Scholarship, Jamie Brisick, and voiced by Surfing Hall of Fame inductee, Rob Machado. The film won five awards on a four country film festival tour and is now on a limited cinema run via Adventure Entertainment USA.
