The exquisite riverfront home at 3937 Indian River Dr. E. in Riverside Park is the perfect combination of a prime location and recently built home – something the owners knew would be perfect for them when their children and grandchildren visited.

“We have an oceanfront house here,” says one of the owners, explaining they wanted to have a place to stay when everyone visited.

“We bought it to stay in when the kids came down with the grandkids so they could stay in the beach house, and we would stay in this house,” she explains.

“I walked in and immediately fell in love with everything about it,” the owner recalls, noting everything from the layout to the serene setting, having everything on one floor, and high ceilings with fabulous views of the river – plus breathtaking sunsets.

“We feel Vero is a little gem to be treasured,” she adds.

The couple initially discovered Vero Beach while checking on the construction of their summer property in nearby Melbourne Beach, which they have since sold.

“Every time we came to stay we fell more in love with Vero Beach. We liked the old Florida feel with an easy vibe and the people being so friendly,” recalls the owner.

“We love it hasn’t changed rapidly and has a great feeling of a community, more than other areas in Florida,” she continues.

Brick pavers form a circle drive with a parking pad near the three-car garage. A portico and 10-foot, glass-paned, mahogany doors present a welcoming front entry.

The doors open into the foyer where you are greeted by expansive views of the river.

“It’s like you have a living mural on the back of your house,” says Realtor Michelle Clarke, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty, noting the movement of the boats with the changing of the tides. “It’s a constantly moving mural. It’s lovely.”

The living room, dining room and kitchen areas dominate the center of the house. With 10-foot, sliding-glass doors opening across the rear of the room, the space flows out onto the covered lanai, making the most of indoor-outdoor living.

A gas fireplace with Calcutta blue marble surround glistens in the natural light that filters through the spacious open floorplan, made only more impressive by the high ceilings.

The study and an ensuite guest bedroom are located to the right of the front entry, with the primary suite enjoying complete privacy at the rear of this wing. With access to the lanai through sliding glass doors, the primary suite has two large walk-in closets with a luxurious bath, including dual sinks, a soaking tub and a shower.

On the opposite side of the house, the laundry room, garage access and two ensuite guest bedrooms are located at the front of the house, with the chef’s kitchen and family room providing a casual gathering space with charming river views.

A quartz waterfall island with seating is a gorgeous, yet functional, kitchen feature providing a bit of division between the kitchen and the family room. With JennAir appliances, a six-burner gas range, kettle filler, wine cooler, and a built-in coffee system in the kitchen – along with the wet bar in the family room – you’ll find this home was made for entertaining.

“It’s an easy house to live in,” says the owner.

Sliders open onto the covered lanai and directly to the river from the family room, giving you multiple views and access points, making it easy to head out to the pool, summer kitchen and dock.

“We love the setting; it’s gorgeous,” says the owner, noting the position of the home on the river, taking full advantage of the view.

She says they love to watch people paddle by in kayaks. “It’s very calming. It’s a surreal property.”

“You don’t find that very often,” she continues, noting the spectacular sunsets in the quaint setting along the river. “It’s such a private, serene and calming place that we enjoy.”

Outside, the covered lanai is an oasis for those hot summer days where you can enjoy some shade or watch as a storm passes. There’s plenty of room to dine poolside after cooking the catch of the day in the summer kitchen or enjoying a glass of wine as you watch the sunset.

The saltwater pool and vanishing-edge spa beckon you to take a refreshing dip or enjoy a warm soak.

With the private dock, the 16,000-pound boat lift, jet ski lift and the floating dock, you can enjoy all sorts of fun on the Indian River Lagoon. With 109 feet of river frontage, there is plenty of room to dock your boat, kayak and paddleboard.

The Riverside Park neighborhood, located just north of the Merrill P. Barber Bridge, is convenient to mainland shopping and is a short walk to the beach and the Ocean Drive shopping district. You can enjoy cultural offerings at Riverside Theatre or the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Riverside Park offers a USTA-managed city tennis facility, exercise trail and boat launch. The city marina and a big, riverside, off-leash dog park are just a bike ride away.
