Steven Lulich, 71, Sebastian

April 21, 1952 – June 27, 2023

Steven Lulich was born April 21, 1952 in Astoria, New York, son of Stanislao Steven Lulich and Rose DelRosso Lulich. He moved to Sebastian, Florida in 1985 and was a parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Italian American Club and the Elks Lodge. He loved to travel, fish, dance, cook and spend time with his family and friends. He married the love of his life, his wife Linda Christina Lulich, who survived him. He was known for his infectious and charismatic personality and made an impact on many. He passed away from a natural cause of death on Tuesday night, June 27, 2023. He valued his family and will always be loved by his children Steven Rigel Lulich, Jordan Josef Lulich, Tasha Christina Smith, daughter-in-law Haizea Lulich, son-in-law Logan Smith and his three grandchildren Hanna Rose Lulich, Archer Mason Lulich and Noah Jordan Lulich. He will also be dearly missed by his brother John Lulich, niece Christina Rose Bouler, nephews Trevor Jordan “T.J.” Lulich and Jonathan Edward Lulich, and his three precious grandnephews.

Gregory Burton Self, 65

May 8, 1958 – June 27, 2023

Gregory Burton Self, 65, passed away on June 27, 2023 at Sebastian River Medical Center.

Born in Winston-Salem, he was the son of John Burton Self and Iris Sue Apperson Self. Greg was a golf course superintendent at a local golf course for over thirty years.

His hobbies included collecting sports cars, going on motorcycle rides, and listening to his favorite band The Outlaws.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his caring and loving personality, and how he would go out of his way to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his sister Susan Self White (Fred Michael White), one nephew, and one great nephew. He is predeceased by his parents and his best friend Lee Heckman.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL 32958.

Garner Hodges, 64

March 28, 1959 – June 30, 2023

On June 30, 2023, Garner Hodges departed this life at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital at the age of 64. Garner was born on March 28, 1959, in Vero Beach, Florida to the parentage of the late Johnny Sneed and Jessie Brinson.

Garner attended and furthered her education at Indian River Community College where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Garner was a caring, compassionate, and dedicated nurse for over 30 years. Garner was a strong woman, her joy for life, audacious and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through life’s obstacles and journeys. Garner was an exceptional friend and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always first to offer help to anyone in need. Garner’s hobbies she loved to read books, watch marvel shows, eat seafood, and dance. Garner was preceded in death by both her parents Johnny Sneed and Jessie Brinson (Sister) Toni Brinson Gast and (Brother) Johnny Otis Sneed.

She is survived by her four children, who made up the entirety of her world, Barbette (Willie) Newkirk of Dublin, GA; James (Latoya) Hodges, Vernon Hodges, and Choya Hodges all of Sebastian, Florida. Besides her children, Garner is survived by her Four Sisters: Mimi Mckaskill, Dr. Tina (Thomas) Gaskin, Harriet Merriweather, and Marshalle Henry; One Brother: Johnny Wesley Sneed; Nine Grandchildren: Ashanti Brantley, Martavious Brantley, Jacori Hodges, Jasmine Hodges, Sariyah Hodges, Merkeyia Jones, Michael Agostino III, Omarion Hodges, Xavier Hodges Corbin; Three Great Grandchildren: Janiya Hodges, A’loni Brantley, and Marley Brantley; Devoted God Daughter: Neshell Butler and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Garner at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida on July 14th, 2023 from 5pm to 9pm. The funeral service will be at Seawinds Funeral Home on July 15th, 2023 at 3pm.

Maude Vermuth, 91, Micco

December 23, 1931 – July 16, 2023

Maude Vermuth, 91 of Micco, Fl passed away on July 16, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 23, 1931 in Buddtown, NJ to Mary and Frederick Endress.

Maude loved being with her family, she enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling with her husband and spending time with her friends.   She also enjoyed spending summers in Ship Bottom,NJ.

She survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Vermuth, her 5 children, Kimberly (David) Sandgren, Sherri Owens (partner Greg Upton), Michael (Martha) Vermuth, Laurie Chase, and Kristy (William) Kennedy; 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, July 21 at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
