By bringing together the classical and contemporary dance forms and strengths of each of its principal artists, Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre has become celebrated for the creation of daring and theatrical dance works.
On August 4 and 5 at Riverside Theatre, Vero audiences will be treated to Johnny Cash music in The Man in Black, a cowboy boot ballet by James Kedulka that celebrates American working-class grit and the man whose gravely voice embodied it so movingly.
Six Cash songs, all covers from the later part of his career, are given visual resonance in a suite of dances for an ensemble of three men and a woman. The choreography, like the songs that inspire it, is an ode to the human spirit, socially congenial yet proudly independent.
