Karen L. Matyka, 57, Sebastian

November 5, 1965 – March 16, 2023

Karen L. Matyka, 57, passed away on March 16, 2023 at her residence in Sebastian, Florida.
Born in Danbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Leonard P. Matyka (deceased) and Barbara A. Matyka (deceased).  She attended Flagler College and was formally employed by Publix as a seafood specialist.
She enjoyed her family and 6 nephews – John Cavanaugh III, Brain K. Knudsen, Michael L. Cavanaugh, Keith S. Knudsen, Joseph A. Holczinger Jr., and Noah R. Holczinger, skiing, mountain biking, tennis, art work, spending time with her beloved doggie Pandora, now with Karen in heaven.
Karen is survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Joan and Brian Knudsen, Janice Cavanaugh, Kim and Joseph Holczinger, and Alanda and Greg Babbitt.

Rachel Miller, 78, Vero Beach
Rachel Miller 78, passed away peacefully on March 18th, 2023 at her home in Vero Beach, Florida. She was the wife of Harvey B. Miller. They shared nearly 51 years of life and marriage together.

Born in Nappanee, Indiana, she was the daughter of Levi Farmwald and Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Yoder. She graduated high school and obtained a nursing certification. She was employed as a United States Postal Carrier for more than 30 years.

She enjoyed gardening, nature and feeding birds. She regularly picked up trash in her neighborhood and was declared one of the “Nicest People” by those who live there. She loved to cook and take care of her family. She will be forever remembered as a sweet, kind, hard working woman with a deep and strong love of her family, her faith and God above. We miss her dearly.

She is survived by her husband, two children, 3 grandchildren, and one brother. She was predeceased by her parents and 7 siblings.

The graveside service will be held on March 27th at 10 a.m. at Brookside Historical Cemetery in Fellsmere, Florida.

Heather Lynn Kirkman, 30, The Villages

December 14, 1992 – March 10, 2023

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Heather Lynn Kirkman on March 10, 2023 after losing her ongoing battle with mental illness and addiction.

Heather was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1992. She spent most of her life in Bucks County Pennsylvania until recently, when she moved to The Villages, Florida.

Heather graduated from Central Bucks South High School in Warrington, Pennsylvania and Middle Bucks Institute of Technology in Warminster, Pennsylvania, where she received a certificate of achievement through their Cosmetology Program.

During her childhood and teenage years, Heather attended Kelly Richards School of Dance in Warminster, Pennsylvania, where she was a member of their Competition Team. She also enjoyed listening to music, collecting anything to do with cows, and she loved her two cats, Bernie and Willie.

Heather is survived by her mother, Deborah Kirkman, her brothers, Christopher Kirkman (Phillip Rieco), Stephen Kirkman (Lauren), her grandmother, Jean Leswing, and most importantly, her son Ryan Kirkman, whom she loved dearly.

Heather was preceded in death by her father, Charles (Chuck) Kirkman.

A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
