UNITED AGAINST POVERTY UNVEILS GOING UP BUS FOR THE COMMUNITY

Vero Beach, Fla., April 25, 2023 – United Against Poverty unveils their new Going UP bus for the Indian River County Community.

WHAT: A ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce a phenomenal new resource to the Indian River County community, the Going UP Bus. The Going UP Bus is a 15-passenger bus that United Against Poverty has secured from a generous grant from our supporters Impact 100 of Indian River County. The vehicle helps to eliminate transportation barriers for low-income adults across Indian River County.  The bus will provide free transportation to and from the UP Center offering the community access to our transformative programs and services.  Pick-up will be available from our community partners across the county. The event will provide a tour of the bus and the opportunity to meet with UP Staff.

WHY: We want to make access to the UP Center easy with a reliable, no cost transportation option.  United Against Poverty believes that providing people in need a “hand up vs a handout” is the proper path to empower individuals to break the cycle of poverty.
