Fuzzy Bunny Easter Donation Drive

April 24th, 2023

Vero Beach, Florida

It’s 8:30 on a Friday Morning…. Good Friday to be exact…the Strunk family, staff, and friends are busy getting ready to share a little goodness with some very special and deserving people across town.

For the 3rd year in a row, the team at Strunk Funeral Homes and Crematory of Sebastian and Vero Beach completed their “Fuzzy Bunny Easter Donation Drive”, where they help collect and put together Easter baskets full of treats and comforting things for special members of our community.

Each year, the number of baskets needed has increased…but so has the generous support of the community. This year after accepting donations via an Amazon Wishlist, as well as in-person gifts and checks, the Strunks organized and wrapped over 130 beautiful Easter baskets. The baskets are customized for boys and girls, and different age ranges.

Where are all these baskets going? For the second year, the Strunks partnered with Rise Center for Adults, founded by Kelly Rowe to help adults over 18 with differing abilities, as well as Hope for Families Center of Vero Beach, for families in transition, who need a safe place to stay for a while.

Said Kelly, “Anytime we have a community partner (come in) it really does bring so much joy, we are really grateful Strunk chose us…the smiles on their faces make everything worth it!”

Said Lydia Lander, “We exist because there is a huge need for families who are homeless, and things like what’s happening today…a child opening an Easter basket…it let’s them know that they are not alone in this community.”

“We love the community we live and work in. Our father, Glenn Strunk, served this community for more than 40 years…he taught us to love and care for our neighbors, and it is a tradition we are proud to continue today.” – Kevin Strunk, Owner, Strunk Funeral Homes and Crematory

The Strunk team is already looking forward to next year, and hoping that the community will continue to step up and help deliver a little basket of joy on Easter in 2024.
