WHAT:                                 Pinwheels for Prevention awareness campaign kick off on Wear Blue Day and planting two 6ft tall pinwheels and several pinwheel gardens.

The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign helps to educate communities about the importance of supporting children and families. Shining in the sun, the pinwheel reflects the bright future all children deserve and our belief that getting it right early is less costly than trying to fix it later.

WHY:                                    The blue pinwheel is the nationally recognized prevention symbol because it represents happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve. In 2008, the Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign was launched as a grassroots effort for individuals and organizations across the U.S. to take action. The campaign promotes healthy child development while raising awareness to prevent child abuse and neglect—before it ever happens.
