In April 2023 Gallery 14 Presents “Southern Light: Focus On Nature by Reed Dixon”

In continuation of their 15th Anniversary Season celebration, Gallery 14 is happy to present the work of acrylic nature and bird artist Reed Dixon.   Entitled Southern Light: Focus On Nature by Reed Dixon, this colorful, lively exhibit will run April 4 – 28, with an opening reception on Friday April 7th from 5-8pm as part of the First Friday Gallery Stroll. All are invited.

Reed currently lives and works in Boynton Beach, FL.  A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he studied graphic design and fine arts at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  He was originally a Hallmark Card designer and illustrator.  Later on, after spending years in the ad business (while always painting) Reed opened Dixon Graphics, a graphic design and fine arts studio.  His work has been exhibited in the Society of Illustrators Show in New York City and for the past fifty years he has been widely shown and can be found in several corporate and private collections. According to Reed: “I call it imagery.  By that I mean the end result is not necessarily a study of the subject, but, how I feel the image should look in the end. I’m never short on inspiration to capture what fascinates me.”

Also featured will be Gallery 14 artist-owners: Edgardo Abello, Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Barbara Landry, Mary Ann Hall, George Pillorgé, Deborah Polackwich and Dorothy Napp Schindel, as well as Walford Campbell, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Viola Pace Knudsen, Mia Lindberg, Francis Mesaros,  Michael Robinson, Carol Staub, and artist-sales associate Jo Zaza. Gallery 14 is located at 1911 14th Avenue in the Downtown, Historic District of Vero Beach, FL.  Open hours: Tues – Fri, 10-5pm and Sat 10-4pm. Closed Sunday and Monday OR open by appointment.
