Jamie Bell and Jim Delamarter Join Youth Sailing Foundation’s Board of Directors

Youth Sailing is pleased to announce that Jamie Bell and Jim Delamarter were elected to the Board of Directors at the February meeting.

Jamie Bell is founder and President of Complete Insurance Trust of Vero Beach and longtime Vero Beach resident.  Jamie’s wife Christy and son Zachary are part of his management team at the agency.  He is a Board member of United Way of Indian River County and served on the board of the Mental Health Association for six years.   At YSF Jamie has been a member of YSF’s adult sailing program and regularly races Laser sailboats at the informal Sunday regattas.   He has generously donated two Lasers to the YSF fleet.

Jamie will head-up committee charged with growing YSF’s adult instructional and boat rental programs.  Under the direction of YSF’s Senior Instructor, Jabbo Gordon since its inception three years ago, the program is experiencing significant growth as more families and individual discover YSF provides a safe, affordable program to learn to sail and continue sailing through the boat rental program.

Jim Delamarter and family – wife Heather and son Alex – have lived in Vero Beach for five years.  Alex began sailing with YSF in 2019 and is now a member of our elite Shelby Sailing Team.  He and his parents traveled to Oregon last July with YSF’s Racing Coach, Roberto Ayala, to compete in the North American Opti Championship regatta on the Columbia River Gorge.   Alex qualified to advance to the next round of competition later in 2023.   As with many sailing families, the Delamarter’s have been drawn to greater involvement at YSF culminating with Jim’s election to the YSF at its February 2023 meeting.

Jim has a background in commercial real estate construction and yacht brokerage.  He grew-up sailing and boating on the Great Lakes and has extensive cruising experience in the Bahamas and two special assignments to Cuba.  Jim and Heather work together in her real estate business focused on seasonal rentals.  At YSF Jim will head-up a Board committee focused on garnering greater parental involvement in supporting the sailing programs with both financial and volunteer commitments.
