The Source is one of over 40 grant recipient organizations receiving $100,000 grants from Impact 100 to help non-profits over the last 15 years! The Impact 100 Community Fair was held Saturday, February 25 at Riverside Park and each grant recipient showcased what they do best! In addition, Anthony Zorbaugh held a brief panel discussion about the future goals for 2023 and the positive impact The Source expects to have on Indian River County in the year ahead.
The Source launched their first Dignity Food Truck thanks to a 2020 Impact 100 Grant. At the time, Anthony Zorbaugh said, “In addition to providing sustainable revenue for the program, the grant from Impact 100 will give our students who are in the Dining with Dignity program real time training, while interacting with the general public. All money derived from the Food Truck will support the programs and services of The Source.”
In response, the then Membership Chair for Impact 100 was Barbara DiMarzo who shared, “The Dining with Dignity Program” is another major outreach that Impact 100 is proud to help facilitate this year. Providing job skills is perfectly in sync with Impact’s mission to help all people at risk and need in the county. We are thrilled that the food truck is already up and running!”
And now, nearly three years later, the original Dignity Food Truck as well as the second Food Truck were on hand at the Community Fair to sell their culinary treats and to share information about what the organization is doing to expand their programs and services for the homeless in the community. Currently, The Source is working to introduce a third Dignity Food Truck to their fleet and are looking for part time and permanent locations for the Truck to be on a daily and weekend basis, as well as participating in special events that occur throughout the year.
