Double Your Impact on our Dock Rebuild

Dear ELC Friends,

We have an exciting update to share about the funding needed to rebuild the ELC’s 30-year-old dock. Right now, we have a generous donor who has pledged to match donations up to $100,000, and we need your help!

The 365 foot-long-dock is a landmark visible from Live Oak Drive, the Wabasso Bridge, and the Intracoastal Waterway. The dock provides safe access to the ELC’s Pontoon Boat — our floating classroom on the lagoon — and is also open to the public for fishing and nature watching. The structure is reaching the end of its service life and the time is here to replace it.

Over 4,000 guests enjoy ELC’s educational eco-tours annually, one of the organization’s premier offerings. Naturalist guides provide educational information about the history of the Indian River Lagoon and the birds, fish, and wildlife in the area. Summer and school break campers, Lagoon Academy students, and the University of Florida’s Master Naturalist Program for adults all use the ELC’s Pontoon Boat.  ELC partners with other non-profits to provide the Eco-Tour experience to our community’s under-served youth.

We have been fortunate to secure support from various sources.

One generous donor has pledged to match up to $100,000 and with your contribution, we can achieve our fundraising goal!
