Finding volunteer opportunities in Indian River County is now one click away.
VERO BEACH, FL, February 14, 2023 –United Way of Indian River County (UWIRC) is pleased to offer a free and accessible platform for volunteers to browse and sign up for local opportunities.
This digital portal is a meeting place for volunteers and organizations to connect and address critical needs to enhance the quality of life in our community. As a part of the United Way mission to mobilize the caring power of our community, UWIRC hosts the VolunteerIndianRiverCounty.org site, free of charge for organizations and volunteers.
“Our nonprofits depend on the giving nature of volunteers, but sometimes finding those resources are more difficult than we’d like,” said Meredith Egan, UWIRC CEO. “With the launch of VolunteerIndianRiverCounty.org, we’re hoping to build a central location where anyone in the community can find an opportunity that best suits them, their talents, and time.”
Meaningful community solutions require more than money, programs, or policies. Real, lasting change is only possible when people come together in a community to invest their time and talents to make a difference. Whether it is leading a food drive, offering mentoring or tutoring, or helping a senior citizen file their taxes, there are opportunities for groups and individuals to get involved, take action, and help Indian River County be a stronger, more resilient place where everyone can thrive.
Currently, a wide variety of opportunities exist, from pet therapy to volunteering on a Citizens’ Review Panel. Volunteer needs change periodically, so check back often for updates.
All Indian River County 501(c)(3) organizations are welcome to register and post projects and ongoing opportunities. If you are a local nonprofit and would like to register your organization and submit opportunities, or if you have any additional questions, please contact Stacy Benezra at (772) 567-8900 or Stacy.Benezra@UnitedWayIRC.org.
