SEBASTIAN — A man was critically injured in a shooting at a residence early Thursday, prompting a police investigation, officials said. Officers were speaking with another man who was at the home during the incident.
“The other individual is currently in police custody as detectives are actively investigating the incident,” Sebastian police officials said in a statement. “This is an isolated incident, all involved parties are in police custody, and there is no concern for public safety. Additional updates will be posted to our Facebook page as they become available.”
Sebastian police responded to reports of a person who was shot at 6:08 a.m. in the 700 block of Bayharbor Terrace, south of County Road 512. Officers found two men – including one with a gunshot wound – at the residence, police said.
The injured man was taken to a trauma center, police Cpt. Tim Wood said. The motive behind the shooting was not available.
No further information was immediately available.
