Upcoming live music series at Raw Space Gallery will benefit the Vero Beach Art Village

Local musicians are donating their talents to support development of the new Art Village in the downtown Edgewood neighborhood.

Building on the recent success of benefit art exhibitions, Raw Space Gallery and the Vero Beach Art Village are collaborating this time on a monthly music series.  Each benefit will feature three musicians from the Treasure Coast area performing a wide variety of styles.

“We were so pleased with community support for art exhibits at Raw Space, we want to now showcase local musical talent,” said John Ryan, chair of the Friends of the Vero Beach Art Village. “These benefit concerts, beginning in January, will not only include terrific music, they will also provide much needed support for the arts.

Kicking off the series on Saturday, January 14 will be flamenco guitarist, Greg Reiter; contemporary folk artist, Rebekah Autumn: and R&B saxophonist, James Broxton. The benefit will take place at Raw Space, located at 1591 Old Dixie Highway, in downtown Vero Beach, across the street from Station 49 Restaurant. All performance will run from 7-9pm with 30-minute sets by the musicians.  Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $12 and are available at the door (cash or check only).   Stay tuned for more information about upcoming concerts.

Greg is a world class flamenco guitarist. He has traveled the globe sharing his unique style of music.  His flamenco-fusion style captures the essence of flamenco, merging the passion, fury and romance of the acoustic guitar with the primal beats and rhythms of Africa, Asia and beyond.  We are lucky Greg calls Vero Beach his home.

Rebekah is a gifted signer and musician who splits her time between playing in a local rock band and singing soulful melodies by herself and with friends. Accompanied by her trusty ukulele, Rebekah blends gentle, heartfelt songs into her tapestry of sound. She considers herself an ‘amateur singer’. We disagree 100%.

James is a powerhouse of soul. His musical style covers a broad range of genres, from soul, to disco to rhythm and blues, to gospel. When James isn’t leading his band through its paces, he spends his time in his studio making music and creating videos. James is a true entertainer.

The Vero Beach Art Village is a reimagining of the historical Edgewood neighborhood in the city’s downtown area as a living celebration of the arts. Located adjacent to the city’s Arts District, the Village has zoning as a special purpose district allowing a mixed residential and commercial environment where artists and other small merchants can live, work, and sell their art. Visit the website at verobeachartvillage.com.     Raw Space Gallery is a vibrant, innovative cultural venue located in the heart of Vero Beach.  The unique exhibition space provides a multi-functional setting for creative platforms and programs.
