Kiwanis Aktion Club in action again – Snowflake Ball

Vero Beach, Fl, December 29, 2022. The Aktion Club of the Kiwanis Treasure-Coast chapter held its Snowflake Ball at the Vero Beach Community Center on December 11, 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to Covid19. The sit-down dinner Italian dinner  plus desert provided by Steve Farmer, was followed by dancing and singing to the music of the Measure in Tyme band. The  180 attendees, ranging in age from 20 to 60, included five members of the local Kiwanis club. Everybody had a great time.

The members of the Aktion club, all who have graduated high-school, are mentally or physically handicapped to various degrees but that did not stop them from dancing the night away. Greg Horton, a Kiwanis member, started the Akion club in1990 and has been its leader since then.

Kiwanis is a 100-year-old global service organization based in the US with clubs in 80 countries. Kiwanis has served Vero Beach and Indian River County since 1935.
