Ballet Vero Beach announces Tastemakers

BALLET VERO BEACH ANNOUNCES TASTEMAKERS

Company To Celebrate Choreographers of Influence

Ballet Vero Beach continues the company’s 10th anniversary season with a celebration of a choreographer who has greatly shaped our organization. Tastemakers will also celebrate dance makers whose unique voices resonate through the dance world today. Ariel Grossman’s serene yet passionate Ori returns along with the long-awaited main stage debut of her Rust (commissioned for Ballet Vero Beach), Grossman’s works will be augmented by a selection of thrilling works performed by our sister company, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami.

Ballet Vero Beach’s relationship with Grossman began when she applied to have her own company, Ariel Rivka Dance, appear in the company’s annual Riverside Dance Festival. Grossman’s all female troupe left a lasting impression on Vero Beach, as well as Artistic Director/CEO of Ballet Vero Beach Adam Schnell. BVB has since added Grossman’s Ori to the company’s permanent rep, and commissioned Rust to give Grossman a chance to work on male dancers. Rust has only appeared as part of an improvised rehearsal film due to the global pandemic, and Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to be bringing the work to life in Vero Beach for the first time. Ballet Vero Beach’s Resident Dancers and Fellows will be joined by guest dancers from long-time collaborators konverjdans and Dimensions for Program 1: Tastemakers. West Side Story Suite, which was originally announced as part of Program 1, will be seen in future seasons.

Full performances are slated for 7:30pm on January 13 and 2:00pm and 7:30pm on January 14. The Accessible/Family Friendly Series performance for this production will take place Janury 15 at 2:00pm. Ballet Vero Beach is thrilled to be the only arts organization in the area to off a full Accessible/Family Friendly Series which offers professional level arts experiences to underserved segments of our community.
