Holidays at the Museum FIRE & ICE — Sunday, December 4, 2022

VERO BEACH, FL – Join us at the Vero Beach Museum of Art for our annual Holidays at the Museum event FIRE & ICE for the enjoyment of families and children of the community. The event, to be held on Sunday, December 4th, 2022 from 1 pm to 4 pm throughout the Museum, is inspired by the exhibition Changing Nature: A New Vision, Photographs by James Balog and offers all visitors an admission-free cultural day of activities.

Visitors will enjoy free admission to the current exhibitions with docents in the galleries playing fun gallery games themed around artworks on display. There will be an art hunt with prizes, docent tours including touch and texture, slow looking safari, and in gallery sketching to name but a few. The studios will allow creative minds to make festive decorations and ornaments, and free live school/student music and dance performances will take place in Holmes Great Hall, Laura and Bill Buck Atrium, and Leonhardt Auditorium.

Additionally, a Mobile Hot Shop Glass Blowing Demonstrations with artists from the Duncan McClellan Gallery will be happening outside from 1 pm – 4 pm and the opportunity to purchase glass pieces from a trunk show in the Museum Store. 

Lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be available for purchase from The Dignity Food Truck, and Strong Island Ice Cream.

Holmes Great Hall: 1:15 pm–1:45 pm Vero Beach Classical Ballet, 2:15 pm-2:45 pm Beachland (Elementary) Shark Singers, 3:00 pm-3:45 pm Fellsmere’s Muscial Mustangs. Atrium: 1:15 pm-1:45 pm Osceola Magnet Singers. Auditorium: two performances by Susan McDonald’s Animal Ballets – 1:30 pm-2:00 pm YASUNI: Dances from the Rainforest, and 3:00 pm-3:34 pm THE AQUARIUM: A Marine Micro-Ballet for Guitar and Sea Creatures. 

The Vero Beach Museum of Art located at 3001 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach, Florida 32963. Directions: From I-95 (Exit 147), from U.S.1, and Indian River Boulevard, take State Road 60 east over the Merrill Barber Bridge to beachside, turn right at first traffic light into Riverside Park.
