Lagoon Lantern Walk and Campfire is December 9th at the ELC
Join the Environmental Learning Center on Friday, December 9th for a Lagoon Lantern Walk. Make plans now for this family-friendly holiday evening of entertainment, crafts, and outdoor activities. This ELC event is perfect for families, kids of all ages, a friend outing, or a date night. Lantern making and toasting marshmallows for s’mores begins at 6:00 PM. The ELC will have guided nature walks around the boardwalks and trails and guests can light their way with the lanterns. For extra Illumination, bring a flashlight or headlamp. Reservations for lantern making and s’mores are required, and tickets are available now on Eventbrite.
The Treasure Coast Girls Coalition will have food and drinks available for purchase starting at 5:00 PM. The City of Vero Beach Recreation Department Aerial Antics Youth Circus will perform selections on the new pavilion stage from their Enchanted Christmas Ball at 5:30 PM. The interactive Discovery Station with aquariums and touch tank, as well as the art galleries, and the Nature Nook Eco-Boutique will be open throughout the evening for guest enjoyment.
With a mission to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their well-being, the ELC is committed to sharing the importance of protecting and restoring our natural resources. Open seven days a week, the 64-acre nature park has boardwalks and trails for walking, the Discovery Station, a nature playscape, and weekly wellness classes. Guests can canoe or kayak on their own or with a guide and go on one of the ELC’s Pontoon Boat Eco-Tours. There are programming opportunities for all ages from toddlers to teenagers to adults.
