Volunteers Needed

The Vero Beach Theatre Guild needs your creative talents and energetic personalities to join our family of volunteers that keep our theatre doors open!

Can you help out volunteering 4 hours once a month every other month when our box office manager goes on break? Answer the phone, take messages, and relay them in person to Devan when he returns for the evening? We will go through a short training session with you and if you have a pleasant voice and like talking with people about your local community theatre, we can sign you up!

Can you help out 2 hours on Sundays between noon & 2 pm to answer the box office phone, take messages and distribute pre-paid tickets for the studio theatre shows?

Want to help out with a group of great ladies and gentlemen who are selling concessions or 50/50 raffle tickets? It’s a fun group, and they could use your help occasionally on show nights!

The costume department needs a couple of volunteers who like to sew on projects in their own homes. Minor alterations. Sleeve lengths, pant and skirt hems, that sort of thing. We will have the projects ready. You pick up, sew at your own home on your own time and return costumes in time for our dress rehearsals. If you can give us 2, 4, 6 hours of your time occasionally, we could sure use you!

Do you like to scavenger hunt? Then the VBTG is just the place for you! We are looking for individuals who like scouting through our vast collection of props and occasionally going out to thrift stores shopping for just the right prop that an actor needs on stage. Join our team of prop people who enjoy turning up just the right item for the upcoming show.

We have a great volunteer gang working in the shop alongside our Design Director building the magnificent sets the Guild has been putting out these past five years. Anytime you can spare to pound nails, saw lumber or paint, they would love to have you join them on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, any time between 10 and 3. Bring a brown-bag lunch and join them on the patio and meet new friends.

Anyone interested in just volunteering one project at a time for special events? We’ll put you on The Event Set-Up List, give you a call when needed and if you’re available, you can join in the fun of being a part of those special events.

Gentlemen (and ladies too, of course!) have you got some talents in finance, fundraising, legal expertise, and would be interested in giving 6 hours a month of your time as a future board member? Knowledgeable and enthusiastic types who want to champion our community to even great heights; and let’s talk.

The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is celebrating Season 65, our Sapphire Anniversary! We have been in existence in our community for 65 years and we did it because of our team of volunteers. Over those 65 years, it is impossible to guess how many volunteers have kept our theatre alive. They are so appreciated. Over the years, they retire from their commitments to the Guild and new volunteers are sought continually. Please consider coming out, joining our professional staff who will guide you into just the right area you can be of service as a volunteer at your local community theatre!

Looking forward to hearing from you via email at artisticdirectorvbtg@gmail.com

With deep gratitude,

Jon Putzke
