Fika is an important part of Swedish culture. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat. The holiday Fika is scheduled for December 10th from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Due to limited seating, reservations are required. The cost is $20 per person and features traditional Swedish pastries and coffee. Call 772-778-3435 to reserve your place.

One of the earliest Christian martyrs, St. Lucia was killed by the Romans in 304 CE because of her religious beliefs. The St. Lucia Swedish Christmas Celebration is December 11th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The St. Lucia procession begins at 3:00 p.m. followed by Swedish refreshments and tours of the historic home. Admission to the event is a food bank item.
The Hallstrom House and Farmstead, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located at 1723 Old Dixie Highway SW in Vero Beach. Parking for both events is on the grounds.
