Helen McKinney Long, 87, Vero Beach

November 23, 1934 – September 15, 2022

Helen McKinney Long, 87, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away September 15th, 2022.

She was born November 23rd, 1934, in Rutherford, North Carolina, to the late George Calhoun McKinney & Minnie Belle Logan McKinney.

Helen moved to Vero Beach in 1961 with her husband & three children.

A long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & and an avid quilter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn “Pete” Long in 1997; and three sisters, Marie Monteith, Ruth Roberson & Edith Jones.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Lynn Earnest and husband Bill, of Cedar Park, Texas, Carol Everhart and husband Chip of Titusville, Florida, & Scott Long of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Buie, Micah Earnest, Bryce Everhart & Emily Long; a brother, James McKinney; sisters, Shirley Glover & Barbara Eply; and many other loving family & friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September, 28th at 1:00pm at Strunk Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests an hour before services starting at 12:00pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of the Treasure Coast at 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 26th, 11:30am in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors.

Mildred Ann Savage77, Okeechobee, formerly of Fellsmere

Mrs. Mildred Ann Savage, 77, of Okeechobee, formerly of Fellsmere, passed away September 16, 2022.

She was born January 14, 1945, in Vero Beach, Florida to the late Joseph Woody and Thelma Rosie Washington Woody

Mildred quit school to marry her Rodeo Clown and raise a family. She was a loving wife and greatest mother for 62 years.

Survivors include her loving husband, Dwayne Savage; one son, Perry Savage; three daughters, Angelia Marie Savage, Terri Lynn Archer, and Lora Lee Cranmer; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was loved beyond words and will be greatly missed until all are reunited in heaven.

A Graveside Service will be held 12:00 PM on Wednesday September 21, 2022, at Celia Padgett Cain Family Cemetery with Dr. Joe LaGuardia officiating.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1623 North Central Avenue, Sebastian, Florida 32958.
