GIFFORD — No injuries were reported during a shooting that occurred Thursday morning on 38th Avenue, deputies said.
“There is no threat to the general public at this point,” Indian River County sheriff’s officials said in a statement.
Indian River County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire about 6 a.m. in the 4400 block of 38th Avenue, officials said. Deputies blocked of 38th Avenue between 44th and 43rd streets as agents investigated the incident.
The roadway was reopened by 11 a.m., sheriff’s officials said. Deputies and detectives remained on scene to search for evidence and speak with possible witnesses.
“If you have any information in reference to this incident, please notify the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office,” sheriff’s officials said.
