A Different Look: Expressionism by Shelley Weltman
Gallery 14 is excited to ‘kick off’ the celebration of their 15th anniversary season with two familiar faces at the Gallery: Susan Davis Abello and Shelley Weltman. Susan, who will present a show entitled: Life in Bloom: Colorful Worlds by Susan Davis Abello, is a longtime book illustrator and architectural renderer, having earned degrees in English, illustration and creative non -fiction writing. She is presently working in oil and watercolor and writing an epic novel of magic realism set in South America, where she lived and worked for many years.
Shelley, who is presenting A Different Look: Expressionism by Shelley Weltman, is a popular contemporary painter and former artist-owner at Gallery 14. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, her work, which graces the walls of many lofts, homes and condos, has been exhibited throughout the area as well as in Miami. This bright and colorful show will run from October 4 – 28. There will be a reception to meet the artists on Friday October 7 from 5 – 8pm, as part of the First Friday Gallery Stroll.
Always featured throughout the year are Gallery 14 artist-owners: Edgardo Abello, Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Barbara Landry, Mary Ann Hall, George Pillorgé, Deborah Morrell Polackwich and Dorothy Napp Schindel, as well as Walford Campbell, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Viola Pace Knudsen, Mia Lindberg, Francis Mesaros, Michael Robinson, Carol Staub and artist-sales associate Jo Zaza. Gallery 14 is located at 1911 14th Avenue in the Downtown, Historic Arts District of Vero Beach. Open hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 – 5 and Saturday 10 – 4.
