VERO BEACH — A man in his mid-20’s was killed in a rollover crash on Florida’s Turnpike early Friday, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.
Highway troopers did not release the man’s identity for privacy reasons under Marsy’s Law.
The crash involving a blue 2005 Peterbilt tow truck happened at 6:57 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the 180.5-mile marker on the turnpike. Troopers said the man was driving the truck along the inside lane when he veered to the right lanes and lost control of the truck.
The man overcorrected, which caused the truck to rollover across all traffic lanes, troopers said. The truck landed on its side on the right grass shoulder.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.
