Bernice Elizabeth Eastwood, 81, Vero Beach

June 25, 1941 – August 28, 2022

Bernice Elizabeth Eastwood, 81, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Sunday,  August 28, 2022 at Sonata Vero Beach Memory Care in Vero Beach.

Bernice was born in West Haven, Connecticut to the late Alexander and Beatrice Horan Hunter.  She spent her youth in West Haven before entering the US Air Force.  She moved to Vero Beach 23 years ago from Guilford, CT.

Bernice was of the Catholic faith.  As well as being a US Air Force veteran, she was a wonderful homemaker, had held a part time job at TJ Maxx, enjoyed playing cards, being on the water and boating, and enjoyed making various crafts.

Survivors include her husband Edward “Lee” Leland Eastwood of Vero Beach, son Richard Earl Wallace of Texas, sister Mary Giacone of Connecticut, sister-in-law Jackie Hunter of Vero Beach, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother David Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Training for Christ 7655 15th Lane, Vero Beach, FL  32966 or the Hibiscus Childrens Center, 1145 12th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

The family will receive friends 10 – 11 AM with honors provided by the Patriot Guard, Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach, with a Prayer Service and military honors celebrating her life beginning at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
