Paula Marie Hengel, 92, Vero Beach

Paula Marie Hengel, 92, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Sea Breeze Rehab and Nursing Center in Vero Beach.
Paula was born in New Rochelle, New York to the late George and Florence Weber Lachmann. She moved to Vero Beach four years ago, coming from Wappinger Falls, New York.
She was a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Vero Beach. Paula’s life was centered on her family and always felt blessed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years John P. Hengel of Vero Beach, sons John Hengel, and his wife Wanda, of Huntsville, Alabama and Robert Hengel, and his wife, Suzanne, of Vero Beach, daughter Nancy Denardi, and her husband Victor, of Vero Beach, grandchildrens John Hengel and Jennifer (Phillip) Hood and Victor (Betsy) Denardi, Kathleen (Erik) Schaber and Heather (Todd) Collins, great-granddaughters Allison Hood, and Emma and Morgan Schaber.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Hengel, and her brothers George Lachmann and Robert Lachmann.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paula Hengel’s name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
A memorial service celebrating her life will begin at 11 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
