The owners of the two-story, riverfront home at 210 Osprey Court in Seagrove West say it was the view of the property from the river that they first fell in love with. Over the years they made it their own and it’s where they raised their children.

“This is a nice family neighborhood. It’s been super for raising our children,” says the owner, adding that there’s a mix of people, from young families to retirees.

“This gorgeous home is a true delight to market,” says Matilde Sorensen, Dale Sorensen Real Estate broker/owner. “It is in a wonderful location, situated on a riverfront peninsula. The property is beautifully landscaped, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of the river while embracing the Florida lifestyle.”

As you pass through the columns and onto the brick-paved drive, a bougainvillea-covered trellis draws your attention to the mahogany front door flanked by elegant Palladian windows.

Stepping into the foyer – a hallway that runs the width of the house – the eye is drawn immediately to the spectacular river views seen through a trio of French doors across the back of the sunken formal living room. A fireplace adds to the dramatic setting.

“The expansive floorplan with exquisite custom finishes is enhanced by the home’s wide river views from nearly every room,” says Sorensen, noting the dynamic design details.

Each room features something different, from the mullioned Palladian in front, to the coffered and vaulted tongue-in-groove ceilings.

There’s no shortage of fine millwork, which includes crown and dentil molding, columns, wainscoting, judges paneling, window seats and plantation shutters. With 9,331 square feet of living space, these features exude both comfort and elegance.

“The house works really well for a big family, which we have, but it can also work well for somebody whose family has grown up and then all come back home to visit,” explains the owner, noting the privacy of the owner’s suite on the first floor of the main house.

The four upstairs guest bedrooms are self-contained with a laundry room, sunset balcony and exterior staircase.

Located in the northern wing of the house, the owner’s suite includes an office, fitness room and sauna. A private sitting room with a double-sided, gas fireplace leads to the raised bedroom.

Walk-in closets, a washer and dryer, dual sinks, jetted tub, walk-in shower and water closet complete the sumptuous suite.

The southern wing includes an elevated formal dining room just off the front entryway with an adjacent butler’s pantry, allowing for a natural flow into the kitchen to stage meals and offer guests refreshments from the wet bar.

A second hallway off the living room leads to a powder room, the family room, a game room, laundry room, the kitchen and access to the four-car garage. The carriage house apartment above the garage features a sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom and en-suite bath.

“There are lots of areas to be private but then there’s the family room and kitchen and eating area, our favorite spot. That’s where the family gathers,” shares the owner.

High-end appliances, a walk-in pantry, breakfast bar and a breakfast nook with 180-degree river views and access to the rear patio ensure you can accommodate any size crowd in the chef’s kitchen, something the owners tested during the pandemic.

“Anybody who could work or study from home came here,” she shares.
At the center of the house, a wooden staircase leads to a private family room where kids, teens or guests can gather.

A sunset balcony with an exterior staircase gives guests a sense of privacy as they enjoy the uninterrupted views of the Indian River Lagoon from their lofty perch.

A private loggia and patio area extend the living space and provide places for everyone to enjoy outdoor living. The poolside guest house has a kitchenette, full bath, washer and dryer, and a small seating and sleeping area. This space is versatile enough to serve as a party pavilion, office, guest room, or art or yoga studio.

The saltwater pool with spillover spa adds to the tropical, lagoon-like setting and there’s an outdoor shower so you can rinse off after your morning swim or when you’ve spent the day boating or kayaking. With a kayak launch and private dock that includes a boat lift and Jet Ski lift, it is easy to head out for a few hours of fun on the Intracoastal Waterway.

“This is a captivating property situated on a peninsula with more than 446 feet of wraparound Indian River frontage, uniquely designed to take advantage of the wide river views from nearly every room,” says Sorensen. The backyard, which is extremely private, is lined with rocks and mangroves. Stairs lead down to the water’s edge.

The owner says she will miss sitting in the back garden, on the porch or in the breakfast nook while having her morning coffee as she watches the dolphins, manatees and birds.

“I feel very privileged that we’ve had access to such beauty in nature,” she says.

Seagrove West is a guard-gated, riverfront community located between Castaway Cove and The Moorings. Amenities include tennis, pickleball and a marina in the quiet, family-centric neighborhood, just minutes away from Saint Edward’s School, beachside shopping and dining along Ocean Drive, Riverside Theatre, the art museum, and everything else Vero’s charming Village by the Sea has to offer.
