Aubry Sapp, 84, Vero Beach

January 27, 1938 – May 29, 2022

Mr. Aubry Sapp, 84, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

Aubry was born in Dade City, Florida to the late Earnest Q. and Rachel Savilla (Nichols) Sapp and was a long time resident of Vero Beach.

He served in the US Navy and had been a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #630 WPB.  Aubry had worked for Maxwell Plumbing Vero,  15 years with Lindquist Plumbing Ft. Pierce, then he went to work on the nuclear power plants at several locals in Florida, Louisiana, Georgia and Tennessee before his retirement.

Aubry was a great storyteller and enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing and spending time with his Family and Friends.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Martha Sapp, son Derward E. (Mary) Sapp of Vero Beach, daughter Renee (Mike) Cheuvront of Yeehaw Junction, grandchildren Frank (Kasey), Brandon (Hannah), Rebecca (Mike), Kelli (Ben), and Scott (Bill), great-grandchildren Kylee, Clayton, Lia, Blake, Abel, Bennie, and Owen, a brother Frank (Jackie) Sapp of Richland.

He was preceded in death by siblings Wilfred, Mildred, Marion, Herbert, Jake, and Vivian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

The family will receive friends 1-2 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A funeral service celebrating his life will then begin at 2 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Frank Ellis, Pastor of King’s Baptist Church officiating.  Interment with naval military honors will follow at Winter Beach Cemetery.

Violet R. Cullen, 95, Sebastian

October 2, 1926 – May 24, 2022

Violet R. Cullen, 95, of Sebastian, Florida died May 24, 2022

She was born and raised in Queens, New York and lived there until moving in 1954 to Massapequa Park on Long Island. In 1984 she settled to Barefoot Bay and then to Sebastian in 1993.

Violet retired after numerous years employed as a secretary in the banking industry and later working part time for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY while raising her family.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved to take local day trips, and gardening around the house, and was of the catholic faith.

Survivors include son James, wife Debra, and grandson Maxwell Cullen of Levittown, New York and son Edward, wife Alda and grandson Vance of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward James Cullen in 1987.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice Foundation 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL  32960 in loving memory of Violet Ruth Cullen.

At the request of the family, services will be private.

James F. Conners, 78, Vero Beach

May 13, 1944 – May 28, 2022

James F. Conners, 78, a longtime resident of Vero Beach, passed away May 28, 2022.  He was born in Tuscola, Illinois May 13, 1944 to the parents of Stephen P. Conners and Mayme A. Conners. The family moved to Vero Beach in 1957.  Jim graduated from Vero Beach high school in 1964.  He was employed and retired from Piper Aircraft.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Country Kitchen, fishing, sports, trucking with his nephew, and also spending time with his other nephews, nieces, and their children.

He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Hale of Arcola, Illinois and Elizabeth Bassani of Vero  Beach, Florida, and one brother Stephen Conners of Bonaire, Georgia.

His remains will be buried in Arcola, Illinois beside his loving parents
