William “Bill” C. Fenn, 84

March 17, 1938 – April 4, 2022

William “Bill” C. Fenn, 84, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic – Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach.

Bill was born in Syracuse, New York to the late Charles V. and Isabelle Williams Fenn.  Following graduation from high school, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Chemical Engineering.  During his time in college, he lettered in lacrosse, basketball, and football.

After graduation, Bill began a distinguished and highly respected career in chemical engineering including time at Solvay Process, now Allied Chemical, before becoming the Executive Vice-President of Syracuse China in Syracuse, New York.

Bill had served on the boards of the Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse and the Indian River Club in Vero Beach.  He was recognized as an excellent golfer and took great pleasure in model shipmaking.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sylvia B. Fenn, daughters Cynthia (Dr. Ronald) Cook of Holland, Pennsylvania, Amy (Craig) Orsini of Westwood, Massachusetts, Susan (Bill) Anderson of Camillus, New York, Staci (Matt) Smith of Portland, Oregon, a sister June (Bill) Farnham of Orleans, Massachusetts, and grandchildren Melissa Cook, Danielle Cook, Elizabeth Orsini, Eva Orsini, Brad Orsini, Kayla Anderson, Stephen Anderson, Jack Anderson

A reception celebrating his life will take place Saturday, April 9, 2022 and will be for friends and family only. For friends who are unable to attend, please join Zoom livestream a few minutes prior to 6 pm to observe family remarks.

Carole A. Warren, 84, Sebastian

February 15, 1938 – March 28, 2022

Carole A. Warren, 84, of Sebastian FL., formerly of New Berlin, Illinois died Monday, March 28, 2022, at Sebastian River Medical Center.

She was born in Springfield IL., the daughter of William and Helen Sommers.

Mrs. Warren was a teenage model who moved to California to follow her dreams. She attended U.S.C. and then became an Airline Stewardess with T.W.A. Later, she became a tax accountant and returned home to Illinois. She purchased a beautiful historical home which became her way of life. Life on ” The Hill ” was full of friends, animals, gardens and good times. Warm sunny weather drew Carole to Florida. She spent her retirement watching the Sand Hill cranes, westerns on T.V., and talking politics.

She is survived by her son, Wade Warren, and many friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.

Carole will be laid to eternal rest at Woodwreath Cemetery located in New Berlin, Illinois.

Stephen R. Fields, 76, Vero Beach

September 10, 1945 – April 03, 2022

Stephen R. Fields, 76, of Vero Beach died Sunday, April 3, 2022. Born in Boston, MA he was a son of the late Raymond & Gertrude (Showstead) Fields. Steve attended Syracuse University prior to being drafted for the Vietnam War where he served his country in the United States Army. He was a Captain in the 1st Sqdn 9th Cav 1st Cav Div and was a Cobra helicopter pilot.

He married his wife, Barbara LeDuc, in the middle of the “Blizzard of 78” and they lived in Burlington, MA before re-locating to Vero Beach in 1982.
Steve retired from GE Power & Water as their IT Manager in 2012. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing and golfing with his friends.

Steve is survived by his wife, Barbara, step-daughters Kelly Soriano of Vero Beach, Kristin Jewell & her husband Rusty of Jacksonville Beach, Sister Judy Hogan & her husband Bart of PA, brother Donald Fields of ME, grandsons, Tyler Dettlaff of Jacksonville and Cody Dettlaff of Apopka.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00pm, Friday, April 8, 2022 at the clubhouse at the Indian River Club, 800 Carolina Cir SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962. Online condolences may be shared at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com

Sarah Lee Snodgress, 96, Vero Beach

September 04, 1925 – April 06, 2022

Sarah Lee Snodgress, 96 of Vero Beach, passed away on April 6, 2022.

Preceded in death by her husband, Walter, she is survived by her sons, Stanley Snodgress and Shane Snodgress; daughter, Sherry Snodgress; grandchildren, Sandra Seeley, Michael Snodgress, Alex Snodgress and Adam Snodgress, and several great grandchildren; Nina Green, sister.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Winter Beach Cemetery.
