The City of Sebastian and the City’s Natural Resources Board presents their annual Arbor Day & Earth Day Celebration, to be held at Riverview Park on Saturday April 23rd, from 9am- 4pm. As always admission, children’s activities, entertainment, and take-home crafts are FREE.

This year, the City is celebrating a milestone 20 years of being a “Tree City USA” and our super-successful first year of the Sustainable Sebastian Initiative!  The celebration will showcase the work of local environmental organizations, such as: Keep Indian River Beautiful, St. Sebastian River State Park, Pelican Island Audubon Society, and FDEP Aquatic Preserves Program.  Join us at 9am for the opening ceremony and a City Council Proclamation, followed by a Tai Chi demonstration in recognition of World Tai Chi Day.   Throughout the day there will be live music performances featuring: Jason Nail, Robert Johnson, and the Golden Ukes. If you feel like getting wet, volunteer to help attach oyster mats to our dock pilings to create a “living dock.” Make sure to come by the event booth for your scavenger hunt form and free raffle ticket. All completed scavenger hunts will be entered in a drawing to win 2 River King cruise tickets!

Sebastian’s Natural Resources Board is a volunteer board comprised of nine City residents. The Board meets in Sebastian’s City Hall Council Chambers on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss our City’s environmental concerns and assist the City staff in decisions regarding Sebastian’s natural resources.  The Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration is a free community outreach event offered for the purpose of environmental education and outreach. This is NOT a for-profit or fundraising event.
